First National Report published – congratulations Austria

The Austrian team have been the first to finalise their national report, Discovering the Archaeologists of Austria 2012-14.

The report is available in German and in English.

The report finds that Austrian archaeology has grown considerably in the last five years, but that archaeologists are on average paid less than they were in 2008. Employers have a high commitment to the continuing professional development of their staff, but this is not always delivered as a strategic investment.
